Handicraft papyrus signed by the artist
Size: 14x10 inches.
Origin: Louxor (Egypt)

(supplied without frame)

Papyrus paper was invented about 5000 years ago using the plant's stem Cyperus papyrus, it was widely used in Egypt to produce rolls manuscript. To fix the ink, we use the sap from the stalk. A papyrus rarely exceeds half a meter. Because of their high prices, the papyrus were quickly replaced by ostraka (chunks of limestone).
